![]() Unless this truck has been neglected, it is unlikely something sinister. So when you're under the truck with the wheels chocked and the transfer case in neutral, it is normal to see more rotational play in the front than the rear when you're rotating drive shafts by hand. The front will have more slop than the rear as there are more interfaces. Make sure there is no play in the 4 universal joints.įront drive flanges can be an issue on the older trucks if neglected, but I have changed mine along with outer shafts and it made no difference. Make sure there is no axial or lateral play in the 2 drive shaft slip yolks. That being said, I will repeat what was previously stated. ![]() It is a 27 year old truck, not a modern sports sedan. Thanks, Bob Nancarrow are probably 100+ posts on "driveline clunk" relating to US spec FJ80s.Īs stated above, some driveline slop is normal and you will have to live with that. Maybe even a savvy DIY tech from IH8MUD is within driving distance and could use a project and some income? I love this vehicle and want to keep it but I've grown tired and worried about the clunk. Can I get some advice, either about the possibility of the slop in the rear diff being the cause or maybe even a competent technician within a couple hundred miles of me? I live in the metro Detroit area. I'd love it if someone near me knew enough to diagnose and repair the issue but the dealership can't even tune the 80 up and I have no confidence in any of the local shops to know much more about this old vehicle. I'm also getting older and making repairs is not as easy as it used to be. ![]() If I knew for sure it was the rear diff I might spend the money to replace the whole thing but I'm not sure and I'm getting tired of fixing the wrong thing. There is apparent slop in the driveshaft going into the rear diff, no apparent slop in any of the u-joints (which I've also lubed). I can't make out exactly where the clunk is but it seems like in the mid or rear area of the drivetrain. It always clunks when shifting from drive to reverse and reverse to drive and it has a clunk most times when letting off the gas or putting on the gas at slower speeds. After reading posts on this site I've tried several cures, like lubing the splined shaft, new lube in the front and rear diffs, nothing seemed to work. My 1991 Land Cruiser (180K miles) has had a driveline clunk since before I bought it 6 years ago.

![]() anyway tysm for the service and I hope to see more updates like adding pictures and videos!! I would absolutely love that :) since for ex if I go out to eat and I want to write about it it’s nice to be able to add the picture while I’m journaling. I recently wanted dark mode and forgot it cost money, I decided to get it today :) it’s a little harder to navigate since I’m so used to the free version, I also noticed it increased to 7$ vs 1$ (which as you guys should since 1$ is really low with more and more users and having to run an app) I think 10$ should be the max, since anything higher I think would be too much for just a note taking app/ diary. These were all such useful features though not necessary to me at the time, I planned to buy it one day anyway since this app has helped me through so much. I’ve had this app for years on several different iPhone devices :) I’ve always had the free version and enjoyed it, i then found out some fonts and dark mode cost extra, and exporting. I love this because it’s so simple & easy to use, it’s just exactly what I wanted! I am absolutely certain I will be successful at using this every single day! I could use the password feature, but I don’t because I have to use a password to get into my tablet anyway. I can type every night, go back & add to it the next day if I forgot something. This App is so simple, just a couple taps & you’re in, you can spend all your time actually typing, instead of complicated navigating to get where you want to be, bypassing this & that, etc.Īll I want to do is type, nothing else, & this does that perfectly. Guess that’s why when I buy those yearly planners every year where you can write in them every day, they have entries for the first week, then the remainder is blank. It is much easier to type than write, I have a hard time writing & it would take me ten times longer. I work until late every night, so by the time I get off & drive home, I’m tired, but want to write down about what all happened throughout the day & so on. I love the simplicity of this! It’s exactly what I wanted. need the related hardware support (iPhone 5s+) to change the font type, in the font list, select a font full text search-able - search entries by containing text choose a new font size from the font size list You can also choose to export your data to your iOS file system on your device) Please make sure that a mail account has been set on the device.
